kisshell9
Hi guys, I am a amateur guitarist and love to use bang for the buck gears. Currently, i have my pod hd500x as my audio interface and helix native as my modeler. I never used hardware helix so cant compare the sound but the sound i get from helix better than hd500x. I use the pod hd500x as a midi controller and controll native like a normal helix. Only thing i cant do is change helix preset. I can controll snapshot and bypass fx block easily. So basically i bought native for $200 from someone and now it seems like i have upgraded to helix without the hardware. I really love the sound and am enjoying playing more. Has anyone comparee the sound from native using pod as an audio interface. Does the ouput sound like a real helix? How are your experiences? Thanks 1
codamedia
Helix Native sounds just like a physical Helix (I own both)... providing it's played through the same speaker setup. I also own an HD500 which is now my backup... YES, the Helix sounds better. The HD500 as an interface should not be imparting any of it's own tone into the signal... there is nothing to worry about there. The setup you have would be great for home/studio use. If you ever get to the point of playing live, that's when the hardware version of the Helix comes in very handy. You don't generally want to haul a laptop off to a gig :)
JTelman
That Being Said Codamdeia, could I use it in a live application? I also have the hd500x, I'm not opposed to getting a separate audio interface if need be, but could I use the hd500x to control native and run as my audio interface to the Foh or Amp rigs off stage? I don't really care to much for the hd500x's bass tones. I play bass for bands, and worship as well as guitar for worship. so its serving me well in that aspect but I would like it to be able to do both bass and guitar well...
