notgravy
Hello, I've had the HX for a while now - I just recently purchased a BluGuitar Amp1. I am getting strange static and noise as I play when running through the HX to the front of the Amp1. It's like as the chord or note holds and degrades it gets static and noise that's almost as loud as the original note. If I remove the HX - the noise goes away. I have a tube amp I also use and run the HX into the front of, no strange noise and static. I can also run the HX into my computer interface and have no problems. I can run from my volume pedal (2 cables) and I get no noise either. I contacted BluGuitar, they are saying it's a known HX effects issue (noise floor issue I'm assuming). I do not have this problem other than in front of their product. Any ideas what it could be? It's almost like the Amp1 does not like the output of the HX possibly. Cables are 15 ft. each. I'm on Helix version 2.54 right now. I haven't updated due to the issues people were having with 2.60 and beyond with freezing etc.
rvroberts
Hi, I'd be very surprised if it was the HXFX. Known noise issue - I don't think so - you just show yourself that you can put the unit in other noise crucial applications without noise problems. It's either something about how you are connecting the devices, or the BluGuitar that is faulty. Just for interest you can see an interview with Jennifer Batten where she does exactly what you are trying to do.
notgravy
This is the latest reply I got back from BluGuitar - with my original reply under it, see the bold (my emphasis): Quote no, it's not a constant noise. And it's a problem, that only occurs with AMP1. I'm pretty confident that Line6 can help you with this! Best regards, Kai Hi Kai, It's not a constant noise, just when I play. I will contact Line 6 as you suggest, but the HX effects noise floor issue would be constant correct? Also, I do not have the same issue when plugging into another tube amp I have or my computer through the HX. So I guess there is some weird issue between these 2 products and Line 6 should be able to help me? Just my freakin' luck. Should I open a ticket? Does anyone know of this issue? notgravy
Just so if anyone finds this in the future - I opened a support ticket and my HX effects needs to go in for a repair. They didn't say if it was the same noise floor issue or not. I'm waiting on an RMA number for it.

Schmalle
Here is a video that documents what's happening: In that video's comment section BluGuitar stated: Quote BluGuitar - Tone Innovation For Guitarists The problem is coming from the Helix! We know about this problem since the Helix came out. We at BluGuitar have been in direct contact with Line 6. The loop on the Helix was changed. Now the new units work absolutely fine , and that noise is gone. BTW the Noise also occurred with some other „open“ amps like Vox... We now have many happy users of this very powerful AMP1 & Helix combination! Also BluGuitar made a video where they show how awesome that Amp1-HX Effects combination works:
