steinmetztravis
I just got a HX Stomp, and the first time I tried it direct to the board using TRS to XLR outs, there is a hum (sounds like a ground loop) in the output. Not sure what would cause this, but there is no ground loop switch to fix it if it is a ground loop...anyone else have lots of output noise? phil_m
Yes, ground loops can happen relatively easily when using those sorts of adapters because there is a physical connection between the ground of the mixer. You may be better off using a DI box. One other thing to check is making sure that phantom power is off on the channel you're using. That in and of itself wouldn't cause a ground loop, but it can cause extra noise.
steinmetztravis
I should have mentioned I already verified no Phantom power. I still have to check if it does it when the USB is not plugged in (I believe so, but I can’t remember), and I ordered a power conditioner, which is supposed to arrive today.
