stumblinman
Pod doesn't do audio over USB. You need to plug headphones or speakers directly into the Pod.

Challa, what's your signal chain? We need more information so we can help properly. I use an HD500 with Live 8.

radatats
When you hook up your POD by USB, it becomes your audio card! If your speakers are still plugged into your computer you won't hear anything. Plug your speakers or headphones into the POD and you will hear everything again. That goes for ALL audio when the POD is plugged in, not just what you are recording... I think that was what stumblinman was trying to say... :)

GTLazer
You don't have to monitor through the POD. If audio output in Ableton is set for your computer speakers, it could just be that you need to turn monitoring on for the track you're recording into. It wouldn't be the first time I had spent time trying to solve a sound problem, only to discover it was something really simple that I'd just assumed would be ok. Having said that, it is preferable to live-monitor through the POD to eliminate latency issues.
