rer801
Greetings. I had a Variax some years ago but, for reasons I won't go into here, had to sell it. Therefore, I'm considering getting another one. I am something of an experimental guitarist and was wondering about a couple of things regarding the JT Variax guitars. First, are the outputs separate for the mag pickups and the models? If not, can they be? I am interested in trying some ideas involving standard tuning simultaneously with altered tuning through separate amps/effects. Secondly, is it possible to add a Sustainiac pickup to a JT Variax? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much. Ron
silverhead
The outputs can be separated by using the VDI output with a compatible Pod HD device (HD Pro/x, HD500/x). These devices can recognize both inputs separately and simultaneously as Inputs for dual-path DSP. The outputs cannot be processed separately and simultaneously using the 1/4" JTV jack, nor when using the VDI connection with earlier VDI-enabled Pod processors (Pod xt Live/Pro and Pod X3 Live/Pro). Charlie_Watt
With WorkbenchHD you can Blend the Mags and the Models into the normal output. Then if you use altered tuning, the mags will be standard tuning and the model will be altered.
rer801
Silverhead and Charlie Watt: thank you very much for the responses regarding the mulitple outputs issues. Very helpful. Is there information anywhere regarding my other question - installing a Sustainiac into a JT Variax? Thanks again. Ron
