Hello,

My first post on 6 forums. I realize this gear is aging and the Helix is all the rage now.  Now I am 50yrs old and metal Head. Not so much djent and super low tuned but E flat 440 hz and drop D from that.

I the 80s and 90s did the band thing and it was a blast! Now i just jam out to rattle the windows..  Yes i am some what of a tube snob but I do own several pieces of Line 6 gear. I like my gear to chug, just ripple your guts when played through a 4x12. The Wife and I was yard selling lest evening and i happened on one that had some gear. At first nothing to salivate over just little cheap combos cables and mics, nothing of appealing. Then i seen a box marked Sons Mesa faintly in the old mans garage. I asked he stated it was his sons but been he has left here for over 10 years. I had no idea what it was but just handed him a hundred dollar bill and he said sold. I put in the truck and we did the rest of our day. I open it up last evening and it was a Mesa Boogie Dyna Watt 20/20.  Needless to say i was stoked! It was still in plastic wrap. I decided to give it a try with my HD pro.  After a bit of fooling and tweaking, I have a heavy sound i would have never guessed i could have achieved. I have a couple 4x12's so i set up my Dual Rec and it sounded just a s good. Next trial was my Laney Iron heart with EL34 setup. Sure enough The tone is equal to the Laney as well.. I have a few other Valve amps but no need to take the pepsi challenge on.. I am just impressed as hell what driving the HD with a tube head would produce. I am sure some of you has done it? I am still tweaking settings and seems to just get better. Any of you done this? Have experience doing this? Here is a couple of pics just for verification. I have now way to post actual sound other than cell phone as i have no pc interface.. I just play for myself but wanted to share as i am thoroughly impressed. I was shopping for a used Helix but no longer. Maybe i am making a mound from a mole hill and maybe old news but i sure am enjoying jammin it out.  I have played so much last evening and today i cut through the callus on my index finger. LOL

Well, I had tried it through several amps and was not happy. I tried 4 cable front of amp on 3 or 4 different heads i have. However this Mesa 20/20 stereo power amp

Does not have voicing like a head with gain ,tone , EQ:s etc.....  This is just a true amplifier other than going through the tubes. IDK? I may be way off but i do know

It sounds absolutely amazing now. Not that it was bad before but it's like it has life now...  Still turning knobs tweaking for sounds but It's my new love for now.
