Vancouverthunder
I would like to practice at night with the headphones on so I do not disturb anyone. I usually learn songs from Youtube. I would like to hear my guitar and Youtube from my MacBook on my headphones which are plugged into the Helix. I am continually stopping and starting the song. How would I hook up my MacBook to the Helix where I can hear both through my headphones? I have thunderbolt/HDMI/USB outputs from the MacBook. I would like to know the best connections to do this and what I would need. Thank You.
rd2rk
Set the MAC to use Helix as it's sound card. It will send over USB to Helix In 1/2. In Globals set the USB 1/2 Destination to the Outputs you require. Control YT level from the MAC, Headphone level from Helix.
rvroberts
The above is correct. Good news is it's probably that way by default. USB works fine for audio. Most annoying thing is you have to control the playback level from the Mac. You will soon discover the wide range of level variation of YouTube video! Works for all audio on your Mac. You will see the Helix will just come up in the audio settings for both input and output. Very plug and play.
