jimbo62
I previously owned the full floor Helix and subsequently saved numerous patches I had configured. I no longer own the floor helix but now have a Helix FX. Is it possible to transfer the patches previously saved in the floor helix to my helix FX, obviously minus the amp and cab settings etc. If so how do I do it? Thanks in anticipation Jim. phil_m
You can import Helix presets into the HX Effects (assuming your HX Effects is running firmware 2.80 or higher), but there are caveats. These are from the 2.80 release notes. Helix Floor/Rack/LT, Helix Native, or HX Stomp presets into HX Effects. However, there are caveats. To avoid an error message, the source preset must: Contain 9 or fewer blocks Not contain any Amp+Cab, Amp, Preamp, or Cab blocks Contain no more than one Split and Merge block Fit within one path worth of DSP processing If you have Helix Native, it would be easier, probably, to transfer your Helix presets to Native first and get them set up in the proper format. Then you could save those and import those to the HX Effects.

Unless there is another way to do so?

If it’s not a ton, I’d be happy to help you out. Just send me the presets you want to convert, and I could do it for you.
jimbo62
That’s very kind. Thank you. Unfortunately there are quite a lot and I’m not sure without reminding myself of which ones I’d want. Maybe it’s time to bite the bullet and buy native. Well, I should have thought of it earlier, but you can download and install the trial version of Native. It’s a full-blown version with no limitations for 15 days, so you’d be able to do what you need to do without actually buying it. If you do decide to buy it, it’s only $99 with your HX Effects purchase.
jimbo62
Sod’s law. I had previously tried the trial version! If it’s $99 maybe it’ll be a worthwhile investment.
jimbo62
Just to clarify - The reason I didn’t want native was I never use a DAW - I do have GarageBand but don’t use it & I’m a bit of a technophobe and can’t stand having to integrate software into a DAW. If it was standalone and like HX Edit I would definitely buy it.
