Hi there all!!! I am a newbie good to the HX Stomp. I copied some custom tones online that came with IR's for each Preset. I did not seem to be copying the IR's properly. So I reset the Stomp to factory settings and all My IR's show <EMPTY> Is this normal???? Please help and if it turns out I need to reload the factory IR's again how can I do this ?????

None of the HX Devices (stomp, effects, Helix, etc...) come with factory IR's. Those slots are always empty until YOU load something into them. If the factory reset you chose included the reset of IR's... it would remove any that did exist.

If you bought a preset that includes an IR, you need to load that IR separately from the patch... through HX Edit.

Once you do that, you need to make sure the IR is in the proper location for the preset.

  • Either load the IR into the IR slot the preset is calling
    or
  • Load the IR into any slot, then go edit the preset to use that IR slot.

  • 1 year later...

Do these instructions need to be updated for the new FW that now matches the preset to a fingerprint of the assigned IR?

For example, how does one disconnect a preset from the fingerprint of an old IR?

In my case (FW 3.11), HX Edit shows that a lot of IRs are loaded and assigned to presets, but on the HX Stomp, these IRs appear with name <EMPTY> instead of the name that appears in HX Edit. How to show the IR names in HX Stomp?
