HELIX HX to trigger external sampler

Hi

I used to have a HD500x which I assigned FS8 to trigger an external AKAI MPX8 sampler. The switch was set to momentary so that the sample only triggered once.

I have tried to get the HX to do the same but it seems a lot more complicated than the HD500X.

I'm confused as to how to send the message to the sampler using instances and assigning the footswitch. I can get the snapshot to trigger momentary latching but it's not communicating. I had the instance set to BANK/PC sending on MIDI channel 10 (as was the HD500x), asking it to trigger program 39 which is the pad (midi note) on the MPX8 ,.

Same for the footswitch settings (all done fro the command centre)

I am a novice where midi is concerned and just trying to emulate the HD500X. (PC's and CC's confuse me)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If I'm seeing this correctly, you're trying to trigger Pad 4, which is triggered by D#2 - Note #39.

It sounds like you're trying to do this by sending a PC (Program Change) instead of a NOTE. Load the attached preset and look at it in CommandCenter. It SHOULD do what you want.

The preset had nothing loaded in, checked command centre and no instances or footswitches assigned - not to worry I sorted it from the info you gave.

Of course its a midi note and I had to remember its D#2. One this was programmed it worked.

Thanks
