Asylumraver
Hi all, I recently got my out of warranty Helix back off a friend after a long term loan. Prior to getting it back from him he had a local tech resolder the joystick as that had stopped working (I believe this is a common enough issue and covered in other threads). I plugged the Helix in myself for the first time yesterday and discovered that the phones level control isn't working; whether up or down it has no impact on the sound coming out of the phones output, which is the same low level, scratchy signal. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? I've already opened up a customer support query, but as I live in Ireland, the nearest official Line6/Yamaha service centre is in the UK, the cost of adequately insured shipping over there and back makes going that route nearly prohibitively expensive. Thanks.
SaschaFranck
Not that I'd believe this would be it, but did you check the I/O section in your global settings? Could it be that the headphone is using a source that is muted or simply not used within a patch? As said, unlikely, but you might want to check that. silverhead
I expect you've checked this already, but just to be sure..... have you tested using different headphones?
Asylumraver
Hi all, I have indeed checked the I/O section in the global settings and have tried different headphones. Even with the phones level rolled all the way off there is still signal coming out of the phones output, albeit at a low level and very crackly/distorted/filtered sounding. As it seems to be a physical issue with the phones pot, I am having the same local tech as before take a look at it. Hopefully, he can do something with it. Otherwise, I'll have to bite the postage cost bullet. Thanks again for your suggestions.
