smfritzii
I have downloaded some patches and I'm playing around with them. I have an extra Roland EV-5 connected to the "Pedal 2" input. In some of the patches I see the Roland is "Pedal 1", and in some of them it is "Pedal 2". How does one switch the assignment? I want the Roland to always be Pedal 2 & the onboard exp to always be pedal 1 EDIT: 2nd related question I'm trying to add a volume pedal to another effect, but it's either all or nothing. The EXP pedal itself doesn't do anything. When I turn the effect "on" there is 0 volume, when I turn it off it is full volume. The minimum is set at 0 and the maximum is set at 100. What is going on??

I want the Roland to always be Pedal 2 & the onboard exp to always be pedal 1 Normally you shouldn't even have the option to choose which pedal is which.. When an Expression Pedal is connected to the PEDAL 2 input on the back of POD HD500, the on-board Pedal controls EXP 1 and Pedal 2 controls EXP 2, this is a fixed scheme that can not be changed. But there could be device behavior problems with patches created and saved previously with a different than the actual pedal configuration (ie with just the on -board pedal, or with also the 2nd pedal) the user is using. To avoid this issue, you should build from scratch your patches with a certain pedal configuration already in place, and save them. When you will reuse the same patches the pedal configuration must be the same already in place that you used when you saved them. 1 hour ago, smfritzii said: EDIT: 2nd related question I'm trying to add a volume pedal to another effect, but it's either all or nothing. What is going on?? This problem could be due to what I said before. Another thing which you should know (if you didn't already) is that after every time you install the firmware, you should always do a global reset and then a pedal calibration. If you miss the above steps, there could be issues or weird behaviors of the device. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips

After a little experimenting with power-cycling the unit and stopping / restarting HD-Edit, things are back where they're expected. It's been a frustrating day, I'd hoped to do more playing & less fighting with my gear. I will definitely avoid downloading patches in the future.
