HD POD 500x simultaneous connections

Theoretically/pratically it is possible... BUT the problem is (if that really matters to you) that you can choose only one output mode for all the POD outputs, and since you are connecting also directly to a PA it must be Studio/Direct, which mode could be not ideal to connect the device also to a power amp + external cab.

Actually there are output modes which are more suited to connect the POD to a power amp + ext. cab, and they matter if the cab model is included/activated in the patches (as it should be since you're connecting also directly to the PA).

Experiment and see if by using the Studio/Direct output mode (absolutely necessary for direct to PA connections) you can still get good results with the connection to your power amp.

Surely the sound coming from the PA and your power-amp +  cab will be different from each other.

possible - absolutely

in addition to everything said above....

you can run both sets of output jacks at the same time. but you can't separate them.

meaning - they are receiving the same signal. you can separate left and right, you can't separate 1/4" and xlr

where I differ than the thoughts posted above:

don't try using different output modes.

if you are new, and are designing patches from scratch, use studio/direct.

if you already have patches made, use whatever output mode they were designed in.
