JordyGcb Posted February 25, 2020 Share Posted February 25, 2020 Hi all, I currently have a Boss ES8, which I control a variety of pedals with including my Strymon timeline and big sky using the Midi functions controlling patches and presets. I am contemplating switching from using a Vox Ac30 to a line 6 Helix rack unit. I want to know if I can control amp presets on the line 6 Helix rack unit using the midi functions on the boss es8, so essentially I can control all my pedals, including strymon patches and the patches on the Line 6 Helix with no latency. phil_m Posted February 25, 2020 Share Posted February 25, 2020 Sure. You can do a lot more than just change presets on the Rack with MIDI. You can change presets, turn blocks on and off, control parameters, etc. It just depends on how sophisticated you want to get. One thing you might want to consider is going the other way. Getting a Helix or Helix Rack with the Control and using that to control your other pedals. You may find that you don't need all of the pedals.
