dannyboyee82
Just wondering how you would achieve having a outboard fuzz that you can insert in to one of the loops on the HX Effects, and use 4cm as well?
silverhead
Using 4CM you can simply place your outboard fuzz pedal wherever you wish in the 4CM chain. You don't need to use a separate FX Loop for it. For instance, place it between the guitar and the Helix, or between the Helix FX Send and the amp Guitar input, etc.
silverhead
For maximum flexibility in terms of placing your outboard fuzz vis-a-vis your HX FX blocks you could use the 2nd HX Effects FX Loop for it alone. The 2nd FX Loop would operate completely independently from the 4CM FX Loop.

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for. How would I go about hooking it up? 'Return 2' --> pedal input/pedal output --> 'Output Right'?
silverhead
Send2 -> fuzz pedal Input / fuzz pedal output -> Return2. Place HX Effects FX Loop2 anywhere you want in your HX FX preset signal chain.
dannyboyee82
Ah ok.. got it. Thanks buddy. Appreciate the help. Anything I need to be aware of in terms of A/D/A and fuzz pedals etc? Guessing a germanium fuzz face probably isn't going to work so well in the loop this way?
silverhead
You just need to make sure your signal levels are properly set. Your outboard pedal likely uses instrument level signals so set your HX FX Send/Return levels accordingly. No need to worry about A/D or D/A conversions.
