Den77
Hi, i woud like to use a Footswitch MIDI Controller to be able to on/OFF devices within 4 snapshots , of different presets. Can you guys recommend a MIDI Footswitch ? for now i didn't really got a answer. Controller can go up to 10 switches. not more. wich one will work perfectly and will be easy to program for the HX Effects ? Anyone willing to help for that ? Thanks in advance. rd2rk
I use the FCB1010. It's cheap, and practically indestructible. It's also big and clunky, but any controller with 10 switches will be, to allow space between switches. It's also (with the UNO_ControlCenter Editor - $22) really easy to program. Manual programming, OTOH, while possible, will make you crazy. You don't necessarily need the optional UNO Chip (the editor works as well with the stock chip). It also has two expression pedals. They're not extremely accurate, and you may want to get the UNO chip simply to improve on that.
ian_90
If you want something modern, small, programmable and with LED display look into the Morningstar MC6. This is superior to the FCB1010 which is very old!

This is superior to the FCB1010 which is very old! The Morningstar is a nice device, and is indeed small and programmable, but don't write off the FCB because it's "old". Keep in mind that much of the MC6's "programmability" is there to compensate for the lack of footswitches, and that expression pedals are extra. The stock FCB chip is pretty limited, but with a proper editor, still quite powerful. And you get TWO expression pedals, which is part of the reason for the size. The replacement UNO chip is more powerful, and with the new UNO2 chip and basic (actual) programming, can do pretty much anything you might possibly want it to. You can find a lightly used FCB, plus get the UNO/UNO2 chip and graphical UNO_ControlCenter Editor (code editor for UNO2 free with the chip) for the price of the MC6 (without expression pedals) or less. Write off the FCB if BIG and CLUNKY is a problem, or if the UNO chip won't do what you need, or if the idea of basic programming on the UNO2 frightens you, but don't think for a minute that the MC6 is better because it's "new".
