akabek Posted November 10, 2020 Share Posted November 10, 2020 I am trying to record a guitar track using the HX Stomp as a user interface into a PC using Reaper. When I arm the track I get a lot of feedback and the effect results in a very high frequency. I do not have any issues using the Stomp with any of the presents into my monitors. I have a feeling the signal going into the DAW needs to be lowered. I also tried running the Stomp in my Scarlett 2i2 but the same thing happens. How do I correct this? phil_m Posted November 10, 2020 Share Posted November 10, 2020 If you have your monitors plugged into your Stomp when you’re recording, there shouldn’t be any difference compared to when you’re just playing through it. It sounds like you may have direct monitoring turned on in Reaper - the armed track would be processing audio through Reaper and then sending it back to the Stomp. If that’s the case, you’d want to turn that off. With ASIO devices you don’t need direct monitoring through the DAW, as you’re monitoring from the source itself. I may have had other effects on in Reaper but I now have the Stomp working as an interface as well as through my Scarlett 2i2 with Reaper. Thanks for your assistance.
