TimWalker7620
Hey all, looking for some guidance as to how to fix this issue assuming my HX stomp bricked. I just recently updated both my Helix Rack and HX Stomp to the new 3.0 firmware using Mac OS 10.14 with no issues to the Helix Rack but now after the initial boot screen on the HX stomp, the screen goes black and shows pixelated blue squares where dialog boxes would be on the screen. It still connects to HX Edit and I'm able to navigate that way but the pedal display is not usable. I've tried to factory reset a few times but nothing so far has fixed this issue. Anyone else experience/solve this issue before?

Anyone else experience/solve this issue before? Hi, That sounds very strange, not something that’s been reported previously AFAIK. You said that you tried a factory reset with no success, but as you note that it can still connect over USB so that it shows in HX Edit, I would possibly be tempted to re-flash the firmware again to see if it clears the issue on the screen. Basically, you have nothing to lose so give it a shot. Hope this helps/makes sense
TimWalker7620
It boots with the normal screen Then loads with this as the UI Will try to re-flash and report back
TimWalker7620
Update: SUCCESS! Initially I updated through HX Edit and that's where the buggy install occurred. Just tried to reinstall using the L6 Updater instead and glad to report a successful install without the UI glitch.
wardadeuce
I am having the same issue that you were metalhead, except that the Line 6 updater is not able to connect to the hx stomp no matter what I do. I've restarted my computer, installed the driver necessary, and even tried factory resetting the device. Nothing has worked. It is quite frustrating, I hope someone at line 6 can help with this soon. lepilepi
First, I had similar screen issues after I updated to 3.01 via HX Edit, but then I used the Line6 Updater to flash the same firmware again and it fixed the problem successfully. OSX 11.2.1 Line6 Updater 1.19 HX stomp Firmware 3.
Rad_Pug
I am having this exact issue. When I try the updater it starts and says error.
JelleVC
I have the same problem. My HX Stomp was still running the 2.92 update. I connected this wit the HX Editor, tried to update. I got an error and now the screen is flashing like described above. I tried to install the Lin6 Updater, but miy macbook (macOS Big Sur) won't open it (says it kan scan the program, I need to contact Line6). Any help here? dasmoothest
I'm a Worship Director at a church and we have 3 of these and for some reason, one of them was working totally fine and then the screen went black and we can't get it back. Did the latest frimware update and the update via HX Edit as well and neither of them worked. This really is inconvenient because we are in the middle of preparing for our HUGE Easter production! Has anyone had success with solving this issue? IMG_4161.heic

I had to take a picture with the lights off and in night mode on my phone for it to even show, otherwise it looks basically black Edited May 14 by rekrdskratcher added pictures

Thanks for the update on your situation - far too many people don’t bother to advise other users of the final outcome.
