hodd
I opened a support case with Line 6 on this, but I just wanted to see if anyone else is having an issue updating to 3.0 from either HX Edit or the Line 6 Updater? I've tried everything and what happens in HX Edit is the update gets to 12% (sometimes 14 %) and just hangs there. I've left it running for hours and it never goes past this. On the Stomp the animated "Updating..." just freezes. In the Line 6 Updater it gets to to the "m" in Updating firmware and freezes there. All I can do is then revert back to 2.92 (this can take a few attempts but I can get it back so it's at least not bricked) Support has asked me to take it in to get serviced, but the whole COVID thing is not good where I am, and I'd prefer to not have to do this yet. I've tried changing USB cables. I've tried on 2 different PCs, and a Mac. I feel like it can't be a hardware issue if I'm able to update previous firmwares with no problem. If anyone has something I could try or experienced a similar issue, I'm open to suggestions! Thanks in advance.
SaschaFranck
Did you try an offline update, using the Flash Memory files provided in the download section?

Yup, I've tried with downloading the files first...still same outcome on all 3 systems. Also, 3.00 and 3.01 give me the exact same results when updating. SaschaFranck
So you did a factory reset boot as well?

SaschaFranck
This is pretty weird, given that you can revert to previous firmware versions. I'd probably contact the Line 6 support, because apart from the usual update methods (a full reset along with an offline update being the most crucial ones), there's not much other recommendations you may find round these parts. Well ok, maybe you could still try to revert to a previous version, clean all your presets and IRs, then do a factory reset before attempting to update.
HonestOpinion
First thing I would try is unplugging any unnecessary peripherals and rebooting my PC and trying another USB cable and/or USB port. You say you downloaded the flash file so that to me indicates that you have already tried using the Updater manually. Btw, make sure you don't have HX Edit and the Updater up at the same time. Have you also uninstalled and reinstalled HX Edit 3.0 with all checkboxes checked? Next thing I would attempt is when the device stops updating, exit HX Edit and restart the update process or if that does not work unplug/replug the USB cable and restart. Note: this is contrary to the clearly printed instructions printed in red on the install screen and has the potential to either leave the PC unable to "see" your device or leave your device with a scary error message and unable to start properly. It will not however be "bricked". You can almost be guaranteed that short of an actual and unlikely hardware problem this will not be the case. If all else fails open a ticket with Line6 and they can walk you through the update(or you can just start the process by contacting them and potentially avoid dire looking error messages).
Joaotex97
I can't do the update either, I think about selling my HX Stomp because Line 6 in Brazil is very difficult for anything

Once I get it back I'll be selling mine too. Through the whole process Line6 didn't give a crap about me and handed it off to warranty. I'm 100% done with all their products. Never again. I opened a case with Line 6 and created a return with my local repair shop. I sent it to them in late January of this year, and didn't get it back from repair until July. So good luck with your RMA :) My Stomp has been in the box ever since. In that time I bought a Quad Cortex, and never looked back.

I tried the factory reset and it didn't work, it only allows the installation of version 2.92 or earlier. The error occurs when trying to install version 3.0 or higher. O erro permanece, tentei instalar a versão 3.8 e deu o mesmo erro, trava não concluí e eu acabo precisando instalar a versão 2.92 que é a ultima que ele permite instalar
