HoJ76
Hey you. I bought a used hd500 this week. Everything looks good, but I do not get the wah and volume pedal to work. I've watched videos etc but I can 't do it. Can anyone help me step by step? Sorry for bad English.
pianoguyy
First and foremost, it is not a wah or volume pedal. It is an expression pedal. There is a difference. A huge difference. Unfortunately, because of the language barrier, and the fact that this is a used instrument - this may get frustrating. Did you reset the device? Reinstall firmware? Did you calibrate the pedal? If the factory patches are there, find one with a wah to see if you can make it work. Even without a working patch, when you step on it, does the pedal change from exp 1 to exp 2? And that is just the beginning.
hurghanico
As already said above by pianoguyy the physical pedal is nothing more than a generic controller which as such needs first to be assigned to some FX to be able to do something. Normally when starting with a new empty patch you add a Wah in the chain it is automatically assigned to the EXP1 pedal mode, and if you add a Volume block it is automatically assigned to the EXP2 pedal mode. The Toe Switch (under the pedal) serves to switch the built-in pedal mode from EXP1 to EXP2 and viceversa but also to turn on/off the Wah (or other FX assigned to it) when you hard press down the pedal in toe position. But this last on/off switching assignment never happens automatically, therefore the Toe Switch needs to be assigned always manually. Within the CONTROLLER page in the Editor is easy to do any assignment or changing the default ones as you prefer. Another thing worth considering that seldom is talked about is that patches created and saved on a device provided also with the additional 2nd expression pedal may behave not as expected on another device with just the built-in pedal (ie working both as EXP1 and EXP2). In other words those particular patches probably need to be redone and saved on the device without 2nd pedal to behave correctly. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
