Hi Forum from Germany,

I bougth a new notebook and try some recording with my HX Stomp. It is working, but sometimes in the recording there are strange crackeling sounds. The waveform looks like this:

Here is a sample (first few secounds without playing, than some chords, then without playing again)

While I'm play i dont hear any crackeling sounds over my headphones (I using the  headphone-out on the HX Stomp).

I using Cubase 10 LE and installed the newest software (according to HX Edit: HX Stomp 2.81, HX Stomp Driver v1.95)

I change the usb-cabel and the usb-port but it is still there. On my old PC the HX Stomp works fine without this strange crackeling.

Did anyone have an idea whats wrong? I cant use it like that.

Thanks

What kind of computer are you using? If Windows, what version?

i5 with 8gb ram is minimal. I don't know what the 32 bit float setting is about, but HXS is 24 bit.

Optimize your computer for audio (google it). At the very least, turn OFF wireless and set your Power Plan to Performance.

In Control Panel>System>Advanced>Settings>Visual effects set to Performance. On the Advanced Tab>Performance>Settings set to Background Services.

It looks like (based on the RTL latency reported) that you're using 128 samples. You probably wouldn't like 256, but try it.

Also, at 128samples you're getting over 20ms RTL. My laptop is similar to yours, well optimized, and I can use 64samples for just over 10ms RTL. That's with Helix as AI. Using my 2nd gen Scarlett I get around 7.6ms RTL.
