rlambros0504
Hoping for some guidance as to what is probably a simple question. I am using a helix to record in pro tools (pc) with an UA Apollo interface. I have been using the line outs of the Helix into the Apollo. I am assuming that it doesn’t make much sense to covert to analog then back to digital. Can I record digitally to tracks without using helix as my interface? Thanks! phil_m
Which Apollo? If it has S/PDIF or AES/EBU inputs you could use those to connect the Helix and not have any additional D/A-A/D conversion, but otherwise, no. You'd have to use the Helix as an interface to record without additional conversion.
