Helix/ Garage band issue

So I’m running the helix into Garageband and after playing for a few minutes all of a sudden the sound I’m hearing is delayed for a few seconds. I keep having to restart garageband which fixes it, but then it happens again.
All software in the helix, HX edit, and GarageBand have the latest updates, and I’m using a brand new MacBook Pro.
Any ideas?! Help please

I generally use Logic Pro X on the Mac, but I also a have a few more DAWs used mainly for trouble shooting HX Native issues. I obviously also have GarageBand as it ships with all Macs. When I need to hook the Helix to GarageBand, I will set the Helix USB as both Input and Output Device in the preferences, and then I have a pair of powered studio monitors which are connected to the XLR outputs of the Helix. Everything works just fine. If you have external speakers try connecting them to the Helix, this will avoid any software monitoring issues. This is detailed in the Helix Owner's Manual page 69, USB Audio, Hardware Monitoring vs. DAW Software Monitoring.

Possibly the main thing about this situation is the big clue in your post  - " brand new MacBook Pro".  This leads me to think that it is running OSX 11 Big Sur. If that's the situation, I will refer you to the Orange "sticky" banner at the top of this page, which is entitled "MacOS 11 Compatibility with Line 6 Software.

Hope this helps/makes sense
