HELIX - MMC MIDI - ROLAND MC 707

Hello everybody,

I try to use the MMC of the helix pedal to control the start and stop of the roland MC 707.
it should be noted that everything is ok with the roland mc 707 because I was able to activate the start and stop at noon with the play button on the Arturia keystep midi keyboard.
I want to do the same with the Helix crankset, and send the "Play" message via the MMC. It does not work.

Another thing, what is strange is that when I go to the general midi settings and I touch external midi, the MC 707 starts playing. There must be a possibility.

Thank you in advance.

Alex

MIDI MMC is different than the Start and Stop messages that the MC-707 is looking for. Those messages are known as System Real Time messages, and the Helix doesn’t have the ability to send those. As far as the MC-707 starting when the MIDI clock is turned on, I believe that’s the expected behavior. Normally, with devices that send System Real Time messages, the MIDI clock starts when you press Play.
