gerryCol
HELLO I am having an issue with my HX Stomp through Pro Tools you may be able to help me with. I want to record into Pro Tools using HX Native to create a preset that I want to save to my HX Stomp via HX Edit. Here is the tricky part. I want to monitor my pro tools mix through my headphones on the HX Stomp. But I am hearing the guitar signal before it goes into pro tools as well as the record enabled track through Native. Since I am not using my PT interface, direct monitoring does not come into play here. 1. In order to record through pro tools I set my PT interface to HX Stomp. 2. I record enable the audio track and set input to input 5, (This is supposed to be a clean track but it is not not. Unless I set my Stomp to an "EMPTY PATCH" I shouldn't have to do that but input 5 is not clean otherwise. 3. When I go to an empty Patch in my Stomp obviously I can hear the clean guitar through my headphones (As I should) but when I record enable my track I'm hearing both the clean guitar and the affected track through HX native. I don't wanna hear the clean guitar. Someone said that I need to split my output path on the last block and send that block to B but I already have a split path on this Patch which is utilizing 2 separate IR's. So to recap I want to MONITOR through my headphones and I'm basically plugging my guitar into and THROUGH the HX STOMP - Going USB OUT TO PRO TOOLS - RECORDING THE GTR INTO AN AUDIO TRACK WITH INPUT 5 SELECTED, Listening to the recorded guitar through Helix Native PLUG-IN. I can hear a my patch fine only problem is I'm hearing my clean guitar as well as I record. I DON"T WANT THAT. I am using an empty patch, if I had the stomp on a patch I would be hearing the Patch 2X THE PROBLEM: Since I am using my STOMP as my interface I need to turn off the guitar in my headphones that is not coming out of PRO TOOLs. The clean guitar I am hearing is straight from the STOMP first just as if I plugged in all by itself. I need to turn that off but when I turn off L-R MIX out, on the STOMP, nothing comes out. I hope I am explaining my situation in a way you can understand. Thank you Gerry C
soundog
I'm not a PT user (Logic here), but it sounds like you have software monitoring turned on in PT for the guitar track you're recording. Turn it off. Essentially, your DAW delays the audio out to compensate for plug-ins and software processing. So...when you play along with your guitar in real-time, you are playing in synch to the delayed DAW output, and hearing everything in synch in your headphones.
