guilhordas
the big question is, how do you do to micked this amp live? 5 mics?
phil_m
Well, you definitely don't need five... I recorded some clips with one mic, and I thought it turned out fine. If you wanted to add a second mic to pick up one of the tweeters, that might be OK. For live playing, though, it's probably not necessary. The majority of the guitar tone is coming from the large speaker. If you have post effects, they come out of the smaller speakers, but even with a single mic setup, you get bleed from these speakers. Also, even thought the amp is capable of producing stereo when streaming music, you don't really need stereo for micing it for live use. If for some reason you did, you'd need three mics - one for the woofer, and two for the tweeters. It doesn't seem worth the hassle, though, from my perspective.
Blek
I also wonder how to use the Amplifi live. Is there a reason why it is not equipped with XLR outs (as for example my POD X3 Live)?
