4 Cable Method - Pod Go & Marshall DSL 20 HR - effects loop problem

Hi all,

I've having real trouble getting the effects loop to work properly. I've found a couple of similar threads but nothing that's been suggested has helped me so far.

I'm running Guitar -> Pod Guitar In, Pod FX Send -> Marshall Guitar In, Marshall FX send -> Pod FX Return, Pod Main Out (Left/Mono) -> Marshall FX Return.

It's a Marshall DSL 20 HR, which has a series FX loop. When I have an effect before the FX loop in the Pod Go chain (eg. Delay) it works; when the effect is after the FX loop it doesn't work, but I can still hear everything else through the amp. However, if I put headphones into the Pod Go, it works through the headphones - but still not through the amp. I've attached a screenshot of the preset I'm using. I've pretty much emptied everything out, have turned off the amp and cab sims and moved them to the end of the chain (which did nothing).

I've checked the global settings, and changed them all without any success. Currently they are Guitar In Pad (Off), Main Out Level (Line), Amp Out Source (Main Out), FX Loop Level (Instrument), Return Type (Return). I've also factory reset the POD Go as I read that worked for someone else, but it didn't help me.

Any ideas?

EDIT: never mind, I found it. The DSL footswitch has an on/off for the FX loop. It was off. (What an idiot - I spent hours trying to work out what was wrong).

try using the AMP out to go back to the marshall FX return....Check that it has been setup in the System settings as PRE/IR...This will give you the split so that you can have an IR on the main outs but not on your marshall.
