boeg
Hi I have a pedalboard based around an HX Stomp where I have some pedals going into the L/MONO input of the stomp, then a cable going from the FX loop SEND/stereo output into a Ventris and back to the RETURN L/MONO input, and then a cable from the OUTPUT L/MONO going to DI. And the HX Stomp then provides some effect blocks as well as amp and IR. So it's a "full rig" like this: guitar -> tuner -> other pedals ... -> HX Stomp input -> HX Stomp FX loop send -> Ventris -> HX Stomp FX loop return -> HX STOMP output -> DI However I also have a nice AC30 that I haven't been playing much since I got my HX Stomp since I cannot figure out a good way to hook it up with my current incantation of my pedalboard. I'd like to be able to use my pedalboard with HX Stomp as a "full rig" into DI as it is now, but I'd also like to be able to just "replace" the amp and IR and FX Loop blocks with my AC30, so something like this: guitar > tuner -> other pedals ... -> HX Stomp "front" -> AC30 input -> AC30 FX loop send -> HX Stomp "fx loop part" + my Ventris -> HX Stomp to AC30 loop return Obviously, I can do that by changing my cabling on my pedalboard, but I'd like to get a setup where the only cabling to hook things up is the input of my tuner as well as the inputs/outputs of the stomp where I can easily just run it as a "full rig" as in example one or with my AC30 in the mix as in example two. Is that possible, and if so how?
rd2rk
4cm with a twist. Guitar>Tuner/Outboard FX>HXS L/Mono In>HX effects>FX loop L Block>FX Loop L Out (TIP)>AC30 Input>AC30 FX Send>HXS L/Mono Return>HX effects>FX loop R Block>HXS FX Send R (RING)>Ventris IN>Ventris OUT>HXS FX Return R>HXS L/Mono Out>AC30 FX Return. You'll need to set the FX Loop Levels to INST in Global Settings Ins/Outs.
rd2rk
Sorry, I left out the "alternate" rig. To use it like it is now, just add an HXS Amp and put it on the same FS as the FX loop L Block. Save the preset with one ON, one OFF. When the FX Loop L Block is ON, the HXS Amp is OFF, and your signal passes through the AC30 preamp. When the FX Loop L Block is OFF, the HXS Amp is ON and your signal passes through the rest of the signal chain as normal, ending up at the DI. I never thought of splitting the the FX Loop send like that. I see that it can work. However, it's really complicated, and I think I would have to replace my pedaltrain metro 24 with something a bit bigger for that kind of cabling, because right now, there is absolutely no room to take cables in/out except at the input of my tuner, and at the top and left side of the HX Stomp. Everything else is tightly fitted down with probably too much dual lock and the only way to take a cable out is to take the pedal off the board, and as I understand it, when I switch between the rigs, I would have to de/attach cables from the FX Loop side of the Stomp... Maybe I could solve this problem by getting a bigger pedaltrain and then introducing a switcher like a GigRig G3 where all the ins and outs goes from/to that. Any thoughts on this?
