Recording signal from my helix to a gopro

Hopefully this is an easy problem but one I have not been able to figure out on my own. So I'm trying to record my signal from my helix into my go pro hero 7 black. Now I'm running 1/4 inch out into a mixer. From the mixer I'm running RCA out into a GoPro Mic adapter. However, my signal on play back is terribly tinny and distorted. I made sure levels on mixer weren't cranked and gains not maxed. Also the volume on my Helix unit isn't maxed out either. Is there something that I'm missing??

Hi,

Best guess from your initial description is that GoPro Mic Adapter is not set correctly for the input coming from your mixer. As I understand the adapter is switchable between mic/line input. I would probably check how that is working first.

I’m intrigued by the idea of you using your Helix for this job. I imagine that you’re using it as an audio interface from a computer to your camera. You didn’t say why the mixer is involved in this scenario, because you could simply use 1/4 to RCA cables directly from the Helix, with the output set to Line in the Globals, and then into the Mic Adapter on Line input.

Anyhow a little more information as to what you are doing and how everything is set up might give more idea of the issue.

Hope this help/makes sense.
