                          Hi guys !

I just got my PODGO and I have several questions :

--- Is it possible to keep reverb or delay trails when changing presets ? (I got the podgo to play songs I've written that have different parts and needs me switching from cleans to distorted sounds sometimes)

--- How do you deal in live situation with the delay that occurs when changing presets ? (Snapshots doesn't allow me to get clean and distorted stuff with the same blocks I think as I have to change amp (maybe I'm wrong))

--- Is it my setup or when I record directly into Fruity loops, I feel like my sound gets messy ? (I listen to the recording with the same headphones I used to record right after)

Thank you very much in advance :)

Hi Thomas, per the manual:

Trails Off: Any delay repeats or reverb decays are instantly muted when the block is bypassed. Trails On: Any delay repeats or reverb decays continue to decay naturally when the block is bypassed, or a different snapshot is selected.

So, whilst you can have trails in the same patch and snapshots, as far as I'm aware I don't think Pod Go allows trails between patches.

But you don't need to change amps. You can set up a single patch that will go from cleans to distorted and solve your trails problem.  For an amp you can raise/lower eg gain/channel volume to vary amp gain. In a distortion pedal you can turn down the gain and raise volume output for lighter mild crunches, and crank up the distortion pedal and/or amp gain to give more distortion.

I've just posted about versatile gig patches and there's a sound clip and a link to the patch.  Everything you hear is from a single patch using snapshots.  You can use the same principle with different amp and effect models.  The great thing about snapshots is you can set any parameters in your amp, cab or FX differently. If you are using the stock cab models you can even have different mike types in each snapshot that can vary your tone too.  Essentially, you can set up a single patch that could cover a whole gig just by using snapshots and stomps.  And you have even greater flexibility if you add two additional momentary non-latching foot-switches to Pod Go in FS7 and FS8.  You can kick in eg a modulation pedal in stomp mode - & if you use FS7 or FS8 you don't even need to go into stomp mode because FS7/8 operate regardless of the mode you are in which is very cool.  So you could have eg FS7 kick in distortion and FS8 kick in chorus. But like all the Pod Go foot-switches these can be set for multiple operations eg kick in distortion and chorus but with a different amp, reverb or delay parameter.

So Pod Go is hugely powerful.  Unfortunately, unlike Helix, Pod Go doesn't yet let you name snapshots and multi-function footswitch settings - but Line 6 have said they would 'love to add these to Pod Go' so hopefully Line 6 will add these in a future firmware upgrade.

By following the guidance from voxmann55 you can probably get snapshots to do what you want. If not, I’ve found that in a band situation you can almost always stop playing or mute for a few milliseconds while you change presets. The audience really won’t notice. In a solo situation it’s tougher to hide the audio gap but I think it’s also less likely that you’ll want such a dramatic tonal change playing solo.

Thanks a lot for the answers guys, seems like I will be able to do what was planned in my mind and I'm very happy about that ! I will definitely check your preset and work around it to make it fit my own needs (if that's fine for you ! ;))

Unfortunately I'm still facing that feeling of losing sound quality when I recorded in my daw, i've checked parameters that could have been modified in order to save some performances but nothing seems to be at the origin of this

I’m not familiar with Fruity Loops, but it’s important that your audio settings in your recording program specify that the POD Go and it’s ASIO driver are used for audio input and output.

Hey ! Yeah obviously I've made sure it was correctly linked to Fruity loops, I guess it was probably my preset that sounded bad...

Talking about presets, I have difficulties making sure that the output gain is well leveled between clean tones snapshots and distorted ones, any clue on how to work on this ?
