So I recently got an hx stomp and I'm trying to use it as basically an amp sim because it's super convenient to switch from bass to guitar when recording. For guitar, I'm just trying to dial in a crystal clear deluxe reverb type sound, but I have a lot of trouble getting volume out of that once I get it sufficiently clean. I try to compensate by turning the volume up on the cab, but I'm also getting clipping from my time-based effects in the loop (I have it set as "tx loop L" cause I'm running a mono loop") Any insight into how to solve these issues? rd2rk Posted June 10, 2021 Share Posted June 10, 2021 You need to read up on the subject of "gain staging". For your FX Loop, turn down the SEND parameter on the FX Loop Block. When you say "I have a lot of trouble getting volume out of that once I get it sufficiently clean", volume where? Headphones? Amplifier (external)? PA? DAW?
