HX Effects Midi Question

Hello Everyone, looking for some guidance from you midi experts out there. I have a question regarding changing banks on my HX Effects and bypassing midi controlled pedals.

I have attached pictures of a sample setup which will reflect how my pedal board will be layed out:

Tuner - compressor - Brothers - Spectre - Warped Vinyl - Tonal Recall - Zoia - Volante - HX Effects

In picture 1 all the midi controlled effects are turned on in the selected bank.

In picture 2 I have selected a new bank but all the midi controlled effects remain on. (But they should be bypassed)

My question is how can I get all the midi controlled devices to automatically enter bypass mode when switching banks on my HX Effects?

Is that even possible?

I think you might be using the term “bank” to refer to preset. You can definitely send out MIDI messages when switching presets. You can send up to six Instant Commands per preset, so, yes, you should be able to do what you want to do. The Instant Commands are the represented by lightning bolts in the Command Center. You’d typically want to have every MIDI device set to a unique MIDI channel, so you’d have to set the MIDI messages accordingly. You’ll have to look at the manuals for each to see what they need for a bypass message. I believe they all use a MIDI CC message.

Thank you!

Yes I did mean bank. Is there a way to have the external pedals automatically bypass when changing banks or would I need to program that in per bank?

Well, there’s nothing you can program per bank. The banks are just ways of organizing presets. You can only program things like that at the preset level.

Thanks for the update and quick reply. I'll be sure to keep an eye on this thread. Looking for the same question. Looking forward for solution.
