I have a Line6 PODGo and I am looking to purchase a PowerCab 112.  Do I really need the Plus model if I am already using a Line6 pedal?

Depends. If all you're ever going to do is use it as an FRFR with IRs loaded on the PodGo, NO.

If You're OK with manually loading whatever speaker emulation you want with a particular Preset, NO.

If you're OK with the 6 speaker emulations included, don't care about the other 6 available on the 112+, and you're OK with never getting an update, NO.

While the PodGo's outgoing MIDI implementation (at this time) is limited to the default Program Changes sent when you load a preset, the 112+ can use those to recall Powercab+ presets*. That means any of the 128 IRs loaded on the Powercab**, and any of the 12 speaker emulations are available without manual intervention.

If L6 ever gets around to updating the PC+ series, those updates won't be applicable to the 112, only the 112+/212+.

Finally, when you decide to step up to the Floor/Rack/LT, the 112+ will be able to take advantage of the features of L6 Link.

To sum it up - the 112+ is more powerful now, and, if L6 ever issues an update, will be even better in the future.

The 112 is what it is, now and forever.

*PodGo does not have MIDI connectors. To use this feature requires that you have both the PodGo and the 112+ connected to a computer, with a MIDI app that can direct the MIDI to the 112+. There's a number of free apps that can do this. It's not complicated, and it doesn't require a high end computer, the old W7 laptop you stopped using when W10 came out will do fine.

**IIRC, not using Cabs/IRs loaded on the PodGo doesn't spare DSP, so this might not be a big advantage. But I could be wrong. It's definitely an advantage if you step up to Helix.
