JakeDBrooks
Hi, Currently I am using a Morningstar MC3 Midi controller as the brains of all the HX Stompidge and have been trying to work out how to add an expression/volume pedal into the mix. Currently I own a Mission Engineering SP25M and would like to be able to do a couple of things. First though I think it would be easier to explain the signal path and how everything is working. I have the Morningstar MC3 plugged into the HX Stomps Midi input. The SP25M has 3 outputs (2 expression and 1 for the momentary footswitch) 1 of the expression outputs in plugged into the only input of the MC3 Midi controller. The momentary footswitch output is plugged into the footswitch 4/5 input of the hx stomp. I was wondering if there was a way for me to use bypass assign, controller assign or command center (or some combination) to switch between, with the momentary footswitch, a volume pedal and then a wah, (or various cc commands e.g delay time and reverb time per preset). Thanks a lot and sorry if there was a specific place this needed to be but this is my first post and a little daunting :-D
rd2rk
You assign the Toe Switch to FS 4 or 5, then assign Wah and Volume bypasses to that FS and save the Preset with one ON and one OFF. When you press the Toe Switch it will toggle between the two and control the active one. You'll need a Y cable (AKA Insert Cable - 1/4" TRS to dual 1/4" mono), with TIP connected to the Toe Switch Out and RING connected to EXPRESSION Out. Read the manual for the configuration steps in Global Settings and HX Edit, I don't recall them off-hand.
JakeDBrooks
Hi, Brilliant, thanks! Do you know if I would be able to do the same with a volume and then switch to various cc controls of say the delay time and the reverb mix at the same time? Or would it only work for blocks that I can turn on and off in bypass?
rd2rk
The exp pedal will work on whatever it's assigned to. Whether or not you HEAR the changes it makes depends upon whether or not the assigned Block is ON. IOW - if you have a WAH and VOLUME assigned to toggle via the toe switch, and you've also assigned the exp pedal to control the amp drive or delay time, it doesn't matter which of the two (wah or volume) is ON, when you operate the exp pedal the amp drive will change, and if the delay is on you'll hear that change too.
