heinfried
Hi friends I ask for your support . I like to cover Popa Chubbys version of God Golly Miss Molly. I know he uses a Fender 66 Strarocaster a Fender Twin Reverb Amp and the only Pedal he uses is a Tube Screamer TS 808. So i use a Strat ( with handwound high quality Pick Ups from Leosound ), I Use Pod HD 500x Ampmodel Blackface Double and a Tube Screamer in Front. I absolutely cant get that tone. Please see Popa Chubby on You Tube https://youtu.be/j7zu0U38qKs Any idea ? Please help. Thans in advance Joe
pianoguyy
First, I hate trying to match 'live' tones simply because we usually don't know what the tone is. What we hear is usually some hodge podge of tone, pa, room, crowd, mics, etc.... But I step off the soap box.... Turn turn up the volume of the amp. Use the volume and tone on your guitar to adjust accordingly. *Also, according to some of his other videos, there is a wah in there creating the nasal eq. Guitarman33172
Which pickups are you using on your strat? I personally use the neck pickup only for beefy punchy tone that sounds so full and sparkly especially on clean amp settings. I never heard that artist before and his version of the song but if it’s anything like SRV , I know SRV preferred the neck pickup primarily for that reason.
