DanBromley
Bit of a random question but I’m struggling to find the answer anywhere. I use a HX Effects unit in my setup and usually plug it into my amp, however my band are doing a gig with a silent stage after Christmas so I’m looking at how best to do things. My mate has a Boss IR-200 that he’s getting rid of, and I’m thinking of picking it up to connect to my HX Effects to basically replace the Amp/Cab. My question is: would that work? And if so, I assume I would run the HX Effects into it and have it last in the chain?
waymda
Having had a quick look at the website for the IR-200 then yes, thinking of it as an amp at the end of the chain makes sense. It also looks like you could use the Boss send and return to place some effects between the simluated amp and cab (eg reverb, delay) if that floats your boat. I would keep it simple and treat it like an amp with all effects going into the front - just for simplicity - but thats me. The key assumtion here is you like the units amps and cabs enough to work with them.
rd2rk
I concur with @waymda, except I'd run it in 4cm. Try it both ways.
DanBromley
Thanks both. Yeah, definitely want to keep it simple - Guitar into HX into IR-200 into Desk. I’m sure there’ll be an amp and cab that I can work with. Thanks for your help!
