HELIX CURRENTLY uses two different schemes to identify the Patches & IR names.

#1 : 000 : 127

#2 : 01A : 32D

Over the years I have used many other foot switch schemes that also include 001 : 128 as an option.

Although this seems trivial by most accounts I've become more used to this scheme with Digitech, Behringer, & some DMX switchers throughout the years because the patches remain numerically correct instead of transposing the scheme.

HELIX PROPOSED scheme I'm suggesting here would support the third choice as in the following example >

#1 : 000 : 127

#2 : 01A : 32D

#3 : 001 : 128   * This scheme would post & maintain the patches in groups of 10 & they would remain in an easy to follow numbering order.

Where this addition makes sense is using patches that start with the number " 1 " instead of " 0 ".

When this scheme is used " 10 " remains as " 10 " instead of " 9 ", &  " 1 " remains as " 1 " instead of " 0 ".

The current Helix patches transpose to the following scheme. I have a tough time following this scheme.

Patch   1 thru 10. . . . .   = 000 : 009  Currently patch   0 =   1  &    9 = patch  10

Patch 11 thru 20. . . . .  = 010 : 019  Currently patch 10 = 11  &  19 = patch  20

Patch 21 thru 30. . . . .  = 020 : 029  Currently patch 20 = 21  &  29 = patch  30

My Helix proposed patch scheme would look like this if adopted.

Patch 01 thru 10. . . . .  = 001 : 010  maintaining the current patches 01 thru 10

Patch 11 thru 20. . . . .  = 011 : 020  maintaining the current patches 11 thru 20

Patch 21 thru 30. . . . .  = 021 : 030  maintaining the current patches 21 thru 30

End of my proposal! I do hope it gets added to the scheme of things.

Cheers to all!

If you want Line 6 to consider this you need to post it to Ideascale since no one from Line 6 monitors or typically responds to this forum.  There it can be viewed and voted on by other users and considered for inclusion in future product updates.  You might want to specify these things as a global option as changing them permanently would likely break a TON of things people have already integrated with via MIDI and there are a lot of things in the MIDI and DMX worlds that work with zero based numerical systems more than one's based numerical systems.
