Can I isolate a loop with the HX Effects Looper so changes to the other effects don't apply?

New to HX Effects, but I had a Spider V for a bit. When using the looper in the Spider, I was able to record a clean loop, and then add some distortion or some other effect (within the same patch) and play over it. I'd like to be able to do the same with the HX Effects, but unsure how to do it or where in the signal chain to place it so it does this (if at all possible.)

Any help is appreciated.

Put the looper at the end of the signal chain. You record with the sounds active that you want in the loop. If you change sounds while playing over the loop they won't change the sounds you already recorded.

If you want to add an effect to the total sound (like reverb to simulate a room sound or something) you would put that at after the looper so that effect applies to everything, regardless of if it was on or not when the loop was recorded.
