ok guys n gals...got a question for you all....when i first got this i setup and have been using the dual rectifier only...i have an 808 the 10 band eq and hard gate in my chain thats it...i have an amazing sound...my pod go is powered by a pedalbaby100 into a 4x12 celestion loaded cabinet....pretty simple and basic...so for the last week i figured lets try some of the other modern metal distortions built in...the 5150....deizel...bogner......badonk...engl...ect....none sound as good as the dual rectifier all are nasally and thin with the same exact 808...eq settings...i even went as far to try the amp settings when you first bring a new amp in then the same amp settings as the dual rectifier..all sound terrible...anyone else notice this or have any ideas why ?

Since you are routing the output to a physical guitar amp, make sure you are using the preamp version of all amps. If you use the full amp model, including cab/mic models, and route that output to a physical guitar amp I would expect it to sound…. nasal and thin.

Just as with the real amp, some amps take to certain pedals better than others and most importantly each amps EQ work differently - so don't use the same amp EQ settings as for the dual rectifier.   Different amps will interact quite differently with the same pedal - so try different overdrives/distortions.  Some can be quite idiosyncratic - for example I'm not a great fan of the Boss Super Distortion BUT it really works well with eg a Marshall JCM800.

I'd concentrate on getting your basic amp tone right first before adding EQ and a distortion effect - you need a good foundation to build on so treat each amp as a fresh tonal palette and start building your tone from scratch with each amp model - don't make assumptions - for example, with some amps the EQ is interactive eg changing the mids can impact directly on how the treble & bass EQ will interact.  Really spend some time with each amps own EQ, sag, bias etc and experiment.  I'd also suggest going on to youtube to listen to 'raw' tones of the real amp (no extras pedals) and see how close you can get without adding anything other than a little room reverb.

Now, you won't be able to match the cab being used because you are going to a real cab and are not using cab models.  But you should be able to get into the ball park.  Then use an EQ and/or overdrive pedal if/as needed to enhance your tone - not to try and use it to compensate for an underlying poor tone - hence my comments re getting your foundation amp tone right first.  I also wouldn't rush to add a 2nd noisegate - it's rare you'll genuinely need anything other than the 'free' gate at the front. And even then, use it conservatively and only as needed if you're getting a lot of noise. All gates will suck your tone to one extent or another.

Think of it this way - with real amps, they will each have their sweet spots and quirks and it takes a while to get the feel of the EQ to get the right tone for you.  You're now trying to do this for several different amps and so you need to appreciate that just as with the real thing, there's a learning curve - so just be patient and remember its important to enjoy the journey and avoid the temptation to try and find a quick fix.  because I guarantee that every amp model in Pod Go can sound really good - or really bad, depending on how you set it.

You also have to make allowances for your real cab which can be a double edged sword - on the one hand it gives a simpler more consistent set-up without worrying about cab/mic settings - but on the other hand you're restricted with an element of your tone that you can't change and the reality is that not every cab/speaker set will suit every amp.
