HX Effects - 3.15 update fails

Not having much luck with Line 6 products lately.

Just got a HX Effects, which was running 3.11, perfectly, no issues at all.

Decided to update to 3.15 because it looks good. Fails every time.

Got a tiny way through using Line 6 Updater, then says there's an error. Now it won't boot, unless I hold down '>' then release, but that's for trying the update again, which will just fail again.

Not sure what the problem is. It's USB 2.0, PC sleep settings are all off, no other audio apps are running, etc.

Save me some typing - I really have no idea why every time a new version of the Firmware drops, this forum becomes littered with people saying they have a failed update.

Have a trawl thought the recent "3.15 Bricked my Helix" posts, and try to follow the instructions given for using the Line 6 Update utility in off-line mode to re-flash your HX FX firmware.

Finally been able to get back here for a moment. As it turns out, I did - after trying a number of other things - manage to update the HXFX.

In case it's relevant to anyone else, what made the difference in the end was, of all things, using an extremely short USB cable. Yep, literally everything else was the same prior to trying that.

Bizarre, and the only gear I've encountered that's quite so fussy in that specific way. But hey, it worked. Just thought it was worth posting.
