HX effects with DSM Humboldt Simplifier

Hi,

I'm going to buy the HX effects (HXe) to go with my DSM Simplifier.

The Simplifier has an effect loop with a single send and two (L and R) returns. I go stereo out from the Simplifier into my interface.

I want my guitar to go into the HXe, and I want to be able to put effects (in the HXe) before the Simplifier as well as in the effects loop utilizing both L and R returns.

How would I go about connecting this?

Here is the Simplifier manual, if it helps:

Thanks!

Would this be correct?

Hi,

At first glance, by the look of things, that should do it, but IIRC, there were a couple of previous posts regarding the Humboldt Simplifier and an HX Stomp that seemed to be not so simple - more complicated. Although that could have been because the Stomp also had the on board Amps and Cabs, and the Cab emulation on the Simplifier needed to be taken out of the equation.

Have a search for "Humboldt" on the main page to see what it turns up.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

EDIT:

I have just re-read your OP and the Simplifier manual it would seem that you have it correct for the first section for adding any drive/distortion fx before the Humboldt. Then when the signal returns from the Amp sim (mono) it can be processed through the stereo chorus, delay and reverbs then straight out of the HXFX OUTPUT to Simplifier L R Return sockets. Essentially, the line you have drawn in red from return 2 needs to be removed and connected to HXFX OUTPUT Right then to Right (Mono) Return on Simplifier. The link drawn in blue (HXFX OUTPUT) should be connected to the Left Return on the Amp Sim - that should do it.
