pvickers
I'm currently considering buying a Powercab 112 Plus. I noticed from the manual for the Powercab Plus that it shows it is possible to use the USB interface to a computer with a guitar plugged directly into the Powercab’s instrument input. I'm wondering if this instrument input is comparable in terms of impedance, dynamic range etc., to the one in my Helix Floor? Thanks! amsdenj
The Powercab manual doesn't say what the input impedance is, but input 1 and 2 both have the ability to set the input level to line or instrument. Instrument settings are generally high impedance.
LesSand
4 years later, it kinda blew my mind that it never dawned on me that I could hook up my iPhone to the back of the PC+ 212 and use it as a guitar interface. It's even called out in the manual, and I missed it entirely. I was thinking of selling my PC, and honestly this single feature made me change my mind. Two things I wish they've done differently: - implement a second pair of unprocessed outputs (perhaps an Out 3 + 4), so that I could both run a cabless amp sim on my mobile device as well as unprocessed backing track / loops from the phone - tapped into all that raw power and charged the device while connected This would have been an absolute game changer. I could totally see how the PC+ 112 would be the very best portable amp for single musicians out there.
