johnnymac01
Hi, I apologize if this has been asked before. I did search prior to posting and could not find any posts on this. I serve on the praise team at church and run my HD500 direct into the board via the XLR out. Since neither XLR is labeled mono/ and I'm only given a single channel , should I be using the left or right XLR out ? Is there something I should tweak in the setup or patches to get an optimal sound since I am using only the left or right output ? I have the HD500, not the HD500X, in case that makes a difference. Thanks. Johnnymac
pianoguyy
XLR is labeled left and right. It does not sum to mono. And because XLR does not sum to mono, I suggest that if one uses the 1/4" for any reason, to use a dummy plug to keep the left and right separated. This helps when designing patches, because you are always hearing your lefts and your rights the same way no matter which output you are using.
