ebrobston
I've been using my HD500X as basically a multifx into a Vox AC15 and love it, so I got a second AC15 to run it in stereo. However, I'm getting a ton of noise when I plug in the second amp. Even if the second amp is powered off. Even if I don't have the guitar plugged in. Both amps and the HD500X are plugged into the same power strip, which is plugged into a power conditioner. I tried it with a different amp as the second amp, and still noise. I have the 1/4" out set to "amp". Help!
ebrobston
I forgot to mention - the noise comes out of both amps. A loud hum.
stormstudios
I am not the best troubleshooter here by far, but I'll try. What happens if you take the power strip out of the equation and plug directly into the power conditioner? Is noise still introduced with the second amp in the same circuit? What happens when you take the L 1/4" and R 1/4" separately out to a different amp or monitor? Is there noise from one of the 1/4" connectors? ebrobston
Thanks stormstudios, but it turns out it was a ground loop. I plugged one of the amps into one of those 3-prong adapters to lift the ground, and now there's no problem. Kind of surprised since everything was plugged into one power strip. binderupsessions
I have bought a 212+ PC for live use. It is connected to my Helix rack via AES/EBU with a 100 ohm digitalcable. My problem is digital “clicks” that sounds exactly like a samplerate-issue (or clock)but ONLY from the outputs (XLR) from the PC to the FOH. (And I have tried connecting on Many systems - same problem! )There is no clicks comming from the Cab itself! The clicks comes only when using the PC onboard speaker sims(Jetson, Essex, Cream etc!!) NOT when in flat mode or when using IRs! Even when I Turn the speaker outputs Down to minus 25-30 dB - or move the virtual Mikes further away - same problem. And I have checked all possible output levels, and tried changing the sample rate, checked the AES/EBU - SPDIF. I have the latest software installed on both Helix Rack and the PC! Does anyone know this problem and how to solve it??
