rd2rk
Line6 Catalyst What’s NOT in the Pilot’s Guide Part 1 – The FX Loop The switch on the back panel serves only one purpose – to determine whether the signal on the FX Return (Power Amp In) passes through the on-board FX. The Catalyst Global Settings FX Loop Switch determines whether or not the FX Loop is in the signal chain. OFF – internal signal BYPASSES the FX Loop completely. ON – internal signal goes OUT the SEND and/or external signal enters through the RETURN. If, as I do, you use Helix, alternating between using the Catalyst alone, with 4cm or for Power Amp/Speaker only, you can either: a) Keep the app connected and manually toggle the Global FX Loop Switch as required. Use this mode of operation if you’re using a modeler other than Helix that does not have the necessary MIDI capability as described below b) Use MIDI to determine which mode is active using CC#107 If you choose (b) then each preset and snapshot needs to have an Instant Command configured to select the mode appropriate to that preset/snapshot.
