Can Helix Stomp switch preamps on/off in snapshots?

Hello everyone. I do not own a Helix Stomp but I am seriously considering  getting one to replace most of my pedals. I already have a pair of guitar cabs with Celestion speakers and a stereo power amp. I have a single tube preamp from AMT but would be nice to try to replace it too.

My main concern is to be able to turn preamps on/off as so far what I have read in manuals there are no dual channel preamps or amps, everything is single channel. No need for IR.

Can this be done in Helix Stomp?

Clean sound snapshot: Pair of clean preamps on, pair of gain preamps off, Chorus on the left on, echo on the right on , stereo reverb on with long decay/mix on.

Gain sound snapshot: Pair of clean preamps off, pair of gain preamps on, Chorus on left off, echo on right off, stereo reverb on with short decay/mix.

Here the signal chain as text. I am attaching a couple of pictures with block drawings that hopefully are better explained.

                      |---------------------Helix Stomp --------------------|
Guitar > TCMimiq-L > CleanPreamp-L > GainPreamp-L > Chorus > StereoReverb-L > StereoPowerAmp-L > Cab-L
       > TCMimiq-R > CleanPreamp-R > GainPreamp-R > Echo   > StereoReverb-R > StereoPowerAmp-R > Cab-R

The definitive answer to your question is YES. The switching is NOT the problem.

BUT...

All power amps are NOT created equal.

Whether or not your desired configuration will work will likely depend on:

a) your power amp, and

b) which Helix amps/preamps you want to use.

If you're using a tube power amp the Helix pre-amps might be fine.

If you're using a Class D or other SS power amp you might want to use the full amp models.

The HXS will be limited in your dual amp configuration by the available DSP (processor power).

Full amp models require more DSP than pre-amps.

Usually. Some more than others.

Some pre-amps require more DSP than others.

Here's a link to a listing of the DSP requirements of most Helix amps/cabs/FX. You can use it to estimate if you'll have enough DSP available for what you want to do.

Personally, I'd look at an LT or Floor and not have to sweat the DSP issues. Or, down the road, routing issues.

And you get an expression pedal.

Just sayin'...

For some reason, some anti-malware programs think this site is infected. It's not.

Thanks, I am gonna check this, if I have further questions I may bother you here again :)

By the way, the website is missing a certificate, that is why it may be flagged by anti-malware programs.
