Can you just use one XLR cable for a live gig with the helix?

Recommended Posts

Hey I'm aware that you can send the xlr output to front of house and the 1/4 inch to the house monitor on stage. I was wondering if you could run just the xlr to front of house and if they can control your monitor and the speakers from one signal  (kind of like a real amp)? Or will I need another 1/4 to connect to the monitor on stage?

it would be "just like a real amp".  they can run your signal to a monitor for you.  However, they control the volume of your monitor (which is the way it used to be, so not really a problem).  If you have big knob set to control the 1/4 out, then you could control the volume of your monitor.  The xlr would be at full signal going to the mains, which is what they want.

hello

Both guitar and vocals are processed separately to give you a pro sound straight out of the Helix. HELIX LT Users: You will need a separate microphone preamp to use this patch. The Helix LT does not include the mic pre found on the Helix Floor and Rack models. More info below.
