357mag
I just learned of a cab simulator called the Mooer Cab X2. You can see it here: https://www.mooeraudio.com/product/Cab-X2--245.html I was just wondering how I would hook it up to the POD HD Pro X. Would I plug it into the Pro X Line Input or Unbalanced Output?
hurghanico
As you can see above here there are 2 possible connection schemes. The most flexible solution is undoubtedly the second one given that in that case depending on where you put the FX LOOP block in the chain of your patches the cab emulation can be where you want, eg before or after the time based FXs, whereas in the first solution the cab emulation could be only the last thing in the final chain. Guitar --> in-POD-send --> in-MOOER-out --> return-POD-out --> mixer/monitor/FRFR (put a FX LOOP block where you want in the chain) _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
357mag
I am not using a mixer at all. All I would have is three things. My guitar, my POD, and the Cab X2. So if I understand this correctly: Plug guitar into my X3 guitar input. Take a cord and go from POD send into input of the Mooer. Take another cord and go from output of the Mooer to return on the X3. Then I think I would be done. Of course then I have my X3 plugged into my computer by way of a USB cable. Does that sound correct?

Does that sound correct? The correct way is: guitar goes to the POD guitar input, the POD send goes to the Mooer input, the Mooer output goes to the POD return, finally to hear the sound you can use the headphones or connect the POD outputs to a monitor or mixer. To make all the above working it is necessary to put a FX LOOP block in the chain of your patches; in this case the FX LOOP block represents the position of your Mooer in the chain. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
357mag
The back of the HD Pro X it has a L/Mono output plus a R (for Send). For Return it has the same L/Mono plus R. The Mooer has L/Mono input plus a R. For outputs it has Left A plus Right B. Would I just run a cable from the POD L/Mono to the Mooer L/Mono, and then a cable from Left A back to the POD L/Mono? Forgive me but I'm not good at hooking up gear except my guitar to an amp.

engine-III
so how did it work for you? i specifically bought the CABx2 for the HD PRO X i just picked up after reading that it was the holy grail solution to the supposedly bad ir’s and it would “bring the POD back to life…”, but i didn’t hear a difference i couldn’t get with some bi-amping in the fx blocks and a a bit of eq in Logic, certainly not enough to warrant another $200…
