brunson
As the title says, normal mode is a little loud when cranked. Low volume mode is ridiculously loud (like it always was) at the same volume. The amp was working fine for a couple of years after a bought it used, then one day at practice it didn't work right any more. :-) I figure I have a bad tube. Any tips on identifying the problem? I'd like to avoid having to take it to a repair shop. I have an authorized service center in Denver, but if I can swap some glass I'd love to save the drive time and the moolah. Thanks! psarkissian
Not as simple as tube swap and bias. Has to be the correct tube and bias, there are tests to run to check the different gain topologies (I,II, III, IV). These are not all analog tube amps. Digital side and analog side have to talk nice to each other or things go wrong. Take it to the authorized service center.
