An "All-in-One" Catalyst/Helix Preset

This is a 4cm preset and requires a MIDI connection to the Catalyst. It assumes that you have the LFS2 or equivalent FS.

Set the Cat to MIDI Channel 3, FX Loop ON, FS2 set to "Effects Bypass", MODE Switch set to FX Loop (left position).

On Helix, set Preset Mode to 8 Snapshots.

Set the Footswitches to 10. If you have an LT you'll lose the A/B Channel switching. Use the LFS2 in that case.

The FX Loop has SEND on FX Loop 1 and RETURN on FX Loop 2. I find that, when using 4cm, the FX Loop is quieter that way.

The 6 Snapshots call Channel A of Banks 1-6.

On mine I have a different amp on each Bank and the Snapshots are named accordingly.

I didn't do it on this one, but you can easily include a Helix Amp or two and use Snapshots 7 and 8 to disable the FX Loops and activate the Helix amps. FWIW - while SOP is to disable cabs/IRs when going thru an external power amp and guitar speaker, the Catalyst is a SS amp with a wide range speaker so, to me, when using the Helix amps, cabs/IRs sound good. YMMV.

In Stomp Mode the A and B switches switch the Channels of whichever Bank is loaded in that Snapshot. I find that doing this by MIDI is quieter than using the LFS2 FS for this function, but the FS will still work, so you can always repurpose those switches if you so desire.

The Reverb FS swaps the Helix Reverb and the Catalyst Reverb.

The Delay FS Bypasses the Helix Delay. You can use the LFS2 FS2 to activate the Catalyst Delay for dual delays or use it for some other Catalyst effect.

The BOOST FS activates the Cat's BOOST. The LEAD FS adds a clean 4db boost at the Output Block.

Instant Commands activate the Cat's FX Loop in case you've deactivated it to use the Cat without the Helix.

I Think that's all. Questions?

This is super cool.  I have the cat 60 with no midi so can't use it, but still.  Very cool idea and implementation.

If you want to try it, you can use a DAW or a decent MIDI Monitor to route MIDI from Helix to your Cat60 through your computer.
